Care for your feet

Buying beautiful sandals is not sufficient. Before worrying about footwear, worry about having cared and healthy feet

Feet are sacrificed throughout the day because of the long hours we spent standing up, wearing high heels and sometimes tight shoes. The truth is that they are treated badly and we do not give them due attention nor do we compensate them for the mistreatment suffered daily. If we want healthy and beautiful feet we have to dedicate some time to them.

At least once a week, take a few minutes and spoil them! And why not ask someone to help you?

The best time of day is before going to bed so that your feet can absorb hydration at night.

1. Soak your feet.

Inside a bowl, soak your feet in a mixture of hot water with some or all the below ingredients:-salt, tea, herbs, sweet almond oil.

If you opt for tea you can open one of those little pockets and spread it in the water.

Water temperature: The maximum you can handle.

Time:10 to 20 minutes

2. Washing

You can continue to use the same water, add a little shower gel and with a nail brush, brush your feet very well with special focus on the area of the fingers and nails and heel.

You should avoid filing your feet to remove the calluses, this action causes the body to regenerate and to thicken the skin more. Exfoliation is the best option.

3. Exfoliation

You can use any exfoliation product you have for body or hands

If you don't have an exfoliation product make one at home with sugar and honey, you can also add a bit of olive oil.

Massage both feet well with this product.

Rinse well with warm water and dry.

If you have very dry feet with cracks ou lots of calluses, use exfoliating socks, they work wonders!

4. Hydration-Massage

Choose a hydrating cream and massage during 10 to 15 minutes each foot. This part is much better if you follow the advise above and ask someone to do it!

Every 15 days, or every month depending on the needs of your feet, after the massage, use a bit more cream mixed with a few drops of sweet almond oil ou alternatively Vaseline.

Then pass a good layer of Bepanthene creme on the nails and cuticles. You can also place it on the areas of your feet that are dryer.

Wrap well each foot with cling film. Do not forcefully tighten it so as not to cut the circulation, do not leave any part uncovered. Put on woollen socks and you are ready to spend the night!

In the morning remove the socks and cling film, remove excess cream from your feet with absorbent paper or wash your feet if necessary.

By now you will feel your feet refreshed and your skin rejuvenated.

The active substance in Bepanthene is dexpanthenol (pro-vitamin B5), essential for healthy skin, promotes the natural process of lipid production, regeneration and healing of the skin, moisturises and nourishes.

5. Nails

Finally take care of your nails and cuticles, preferably do not cut the cuticles, push them back with a proper spatula and pay careful attention when cutting the nails, so they don't get ingrown. They should be cut straight and never too close. File the nail corners so they don't stab.

Prepare nails for nail varnish. If you don't like bright or dark coloured varnishes, use a transparent, neutral or light coloured varnish. Feet look better cared for, when they have painted nails.

If you care for your feet regularly, they will look wonderful.

During summer avoid marked feet, wear sunscreen.

Don't forget the importance of using comfortable footwear, preferably in leather as they mould and adjust to your feet.
